Minimum Program Requirements
- You have lived and/or worked in Citrus County for a minimum of 1 year.
- You are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- You can commit to a minimum of 350 hours of “Sweat Equity”.
- Must attend Habitat homeowner training classes.
Need Requirements
- You do not already own a home.
- You are currently living in substandard housing, which would include any of the following conditions:
- Home is in poor physical condition.
- Home is overcrowded.
- Rent is subsidized.
- Rent is more than 30% of income.
- Your household gross income is between 35% and 120% of the area median income.
Payment Requirements
- You have proof of at least 1 year of steady, verifiable, annual income.
- You do not have any judgments or liens against you.
- You do not have excessive debt or multiple accounts in collection.
- You pay your rent on time.
- You can pay $2,000 towards closing costs.

Habitat at Citrus Springs is a 176-home development in northern Citrus County, where we are currently building 3 and 4 bedroom homes for income-qualified families.
Each home comes with two bathrooms and a one-car garage, with central water and sewer systems. Habitat at Citrus Springs is part of a deed-restricted community.
