Habitat for Humanity of Citrus County is a community-focused nonprofit that believes everyone deserves a safe, affordable home.

Since 1993, we’ve worked tirelessly to eliminate substandard housing, partnering with families of all backgrounds to build homes in Inverness, Crystal River, Homosassa, Hernando and Citrus Springs.

Our unique approach empowers families through homeownership, requiring them to invest “sweat equity” into building homes alongside volunteers. By supporting Habitat, you’re not just giving; you’re investing in stronger, more resilient communities. Join us in building homes, neighborhoods, and hope for everyone.

Our Mission

As advocates and thought leaders in affordable housing, rehabilitation, and support services, we are committed to making a difference in our communities.

Our Vision

Fulfilling dreams through building hope, wellness, and community is at the core of our mission. Through our work, we aim to not only provide homes but also create a sense of belonging and empowerment for all.

Non-Proselytizing Policy

As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith. Visit our policies page for a complete list of all Habitat Policies.
